This was not the case recently when a 200-kilogram crocodile made his way through the town's streets. The sight of the massive crocodile sent tourists and children scattering, according to a report issued by the country's Public Security Ministry. Authorities reported that the 2.5-meter-long crocodile made his way ashore from a local estuary. Eventually firefighters, police, and even a few locals managed to wrangle the reptile onto a truck before releasing him into the wild with the National System of Conservation Areas supervising the release. During his foray into town, the croc seemed to be more curious than a danger. According to police, the crocodile's visit to town resulted in no injuries. This was not the first time that a crocodile made its way into a residential area. A 300-kilogram crocodile recently had to be relocated after being found in Playa Claritas, a town located south of Jacó.
