Costa Rica recently brought only the ninth consecutive victory in the ninth edition of the Central America Surfing Games. Hosted at Puerto de la Paz in La Libertad, Republic of El Salvador, the games provided yet one more opportunity for Tico surfers to demonstrate their capability, bringing home a total of 10 out of a possible 13 gold medals. La Libertad is considered one of the premier surfing beaches in Central America.
The only two areas in which Tico competitors failed to bring home the gold during the 9th Central American Surfing Games was on two prone paddling events and the Standup Paddle Boarding Race. Prone paddling is known as among the most physically demanding competitive surfing events. Nevertheless, Costa Rica still brought home bronze and copper medals from those events.
